Precept Medical Communications holds pro bono SmartStorming® workshop for The Children’s Law Center (CLC).
Each year in New York City, thousands of children are the subjects of custody/visitation, domestic violence and guardianship disputes. These cases are often contentious and quite emotional, and the outcomes can significantly affect the lives of the children involved. Yet while each adult has an opportunity to speak to the court, the child’s voice is often faint or not heard at all. CLC is a non-profit law firm founded on the belief that children deserve skilled, zealous advocates in the court system.
Precept viewed this as an opportunity to help a worthy organization, challenge ourselves beyond our day-to-day “pharma” responsibilities, and expand our own definition of “healthcare”. Healthcare is about well-being. Our efforts ultimately helped to support the well-being of children. Importantly, it allowed us to hone our SmartStorming/workshop moderating skills in a real world setting. In preparation for the workshop, select Precept team members spent a day in court observing multiple cases.
The purpose of the SmartStorming workshop was to initiate the communication planning process for the center, specifically to identify and prioritize audiences, messages, and programs for the center.
